Guess what I found out?

When I named my New Years Resolution “The year of the Finish… ”  It really meant that I had to start new projects to get the old things that needed to be finished….Finished.

I have been storing

an old Stage Design made by the Glasscock County 4-H almost ten years ago.  The county was actually storing it until a couple of years ago.  They needed the space in the storage unit for an upcoming renovation.  Gena called me to see if I was interested in having the stage design. If I was, I needed to go pick it up, if not, then it was going to the dumpster.  I hooked up my trailer and with Gena’s help we loaded all 12 painted ply boards.

“What are you going to do with those?”

James asked.  I don’t know yet.  “I am going to just put them right here for right now.” Great more stuff to have to walk around.  Every so often he would still ask… “What are you going to do with those?”

My new studio/classroom is almost finished.

Dennis Matthiesen, our local fixer-upper, has been helping me close in part of my “She Shack.”  He has helped me hang the entire stage design as my walls and its FABBY…..

But for me that’s not really the story….

The real story is that the Lord put Dennis in my life during Lent to help me finish.  The room was just a way for the Lord to work his magic through this quiet little handyman.   Dennis listens to the Catholic radio after “Tradio” of course.  I have found myself looking up different topics that are discussed.  He just smiles and answers my questions when I am perplexed about something they say or mention.  I found myself singing “Ava Maria” all day one afternoon, because it was stuck in my brain, after hearing it on EWTN.

So for Lent,

I am not giving anything up… I am adding to my list of things to finish.  I need to Start praying more; giving more of my self to service, being thankful for all of Gods wonderful blessings and really just start LIVING more of my faith. Like Dennis.
